Coloured PPF IS Changing The Game

As of today, I’ve only showed you coloured PPF projects which included Gloss Black & Satin Black PPF. This week, I’m super excited to share a recent project where a client transformed his Ferrari 488 from White to Rosso Corsa with coloured PPF and the result almost looked better than paint.

BEFORE

AFTER

This client was stuck in a situation you might’ve found yourself in: the exact car you were looking for comes across your desk and all the stars align except the colour of the vehicle.  He explained he would have much preferred Rosso Corsa paint for his 488 and wanted to see what we could do for him.

Vinyl wrapping the vehicle is out of the question, the material is super thin (3mm thick) and would develop tiny white rock chips over time revealing the paint underneath, not doing justice to the caliber of this car. At the end of the day, vinyl is a sticker which has significant orange peel, looking super low quality. Lucky for him, when looking through our extensive catalog of Coloured PPF options, we found an exact match to Rosso Corsa. We got to work…

All necessary pieces for a perfect install were first disassembled. This is a top-to-bottom colour change, and because the colour of the vehicle was initially light instead of dark, we needed to make sure there was absolutely no paint visible.

Every crevice and crack of the intricate bumpers were meticulously disassembled and all edges were wrapped so you wouldn’t ever be able to tell the vehicle was previously white. We did the door jambs, door sills and all details where white could show through. In addition to Rosso Corsa, we also used Gloss Black PPF on the mirrors and convertible top for some contrast.

Once all panels were completely wrapped, we put the vehicle back together and were shocked how good this looked. Not only was it accurate to Ferrari’s paint but it’s protected so the surface is completely resistant to scratches, swirl marks, rock chips and is self-healing.

Keep this in mind the next time you find yourself in the same situation as our client here, and I hope this gives you some inspiration for creative projects in the future. Get in touch with me if you’d like to have a look at more colors in our catalog.
