ABE’s First: Mustang GTD
Are you taking this over a GT3 RS? ZR1? AMG GT Black Series?
This is by far the most extreme, track-focused rendition of the Ford Mustang ever created. We had the privilege of getting our hands on one of the first in Canada, protecting it through ABE Protect Plus (full-body custom PPF), and we couldn’t resist sharing.
This new GTD is not to be mistaken for just another Mustang. It's a road-legal race car derived directly from Ford’s GT3 program. Powered by a supercharged 5.2L V8 pushing over 800 horsepower, this is the most powerful Mustang ever built.
But beyond the numbers, what makes the GTD truly special is the level of competition it was built for. This car was engineered to go head-to-head with some of the most elite performance cars in the world: Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the Corvette ZR1, the AMG GT Black Series, etc.
Visually, the GTD is on another level compared to anything else in the Mustang lineup, even the new runnerup, the Dark Horse SC (supercharged).
Every panel on this car serves a functional aerodynamic purpose. From its massive front splitter and vented hood to the wide vented fenders, active rear wing, and race-inspired rear transaxle layout. The body is dramatically wider, lower, and more aggressive than any Mustang before it.
As with all new models, the PPF pre-cuts available for this vehicle did not fit the ABE standard. We measured each panel and extended all the pre-cuts accordingly to accurately wrap all edges and achieve complete coverage from top to bottom.
This same level of precision carried throughout the entire vehicle, especially on intricate areas like the front fenders, aggressive aero channels, and the rear diffuser.
Having worked on vehicles with extreme body designs in the past, like the Corvette ZR1, Bugatti Mistral, and Ferrari Daytona SP3, we approached the Mustang GTD with the same level of confidence and attention to detail. Every edge, contour, and exposed surface was completely protected, and we’re incredibly proud of how this one turned out.
Have a look through the photos below and let us know what you think. Stay tuned, we’ll be dropping a full video of this incredible machine on our Instagram in the following week.
Have a great rest of the week!
