ABE’s First: Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta
Just when you think the Ferrari 812 couldn’t get any better: the 812 Competizione Aperta.
Having completed the Purosangue just weeks earlier, this limited edition 812 variant is right up there as one of the most incredible projects we’ve had the privilege of working on through ABE Protect Plus. Let’s go into more detail on what makes this car so special, and how we went about protecting the intricate body with top-to-bottom Paint Protection Film & Ceramic Coating.
Taking the framework of the Ferrari 812 to its limits, the 6.5 liter V-12 pushes 30 additional BHP over the 812 Superfast/GTS and has a completely redesigned body. This includes numerous vents & air intakes carved into the bodywork, a massive rear diffuser, redesigned wing, carbon fibre wheels and a carbon fiber strip cutting across the hood.
With only 1,598 Competizione models to be produced, 599 of which are the Aperta variants, this Atelier spec (Matte Silver on Blue spec) deserved to be kept in pristine condition for decades to come. So we disassembled all necessary pieces, thoroughly detailed the vehicle to remove all potential dirt/dust from getting caught under the film and got to work.
We used Matte PPF to maintain the satin finish of the paint and custom cut / hand cut all panels for maximum coverage. The large rear carbon diffuser extends far underneath the vehicle so we had it hoisted up on a lift to ensure every square inch of the paint & carbon was protected.
This client wanted to make sure the quality of work matched this caliber of car and we made sure to deliver. No seams to be found and all edges neatly wrapped for an undetectable & long lasting install. Have a look through all the photos below and check out the video reel we posted on our Instagram.
