When a Smoking Ferrari F8 Repair Takes an Unexpected Turn...
Sometimes builds don’t start with a plan; they start with a problem.
When this Ferrari F8 Tributo arrived at ABE Automotive, it came in with a smoking issue that quickly pointed toward something more serious. After a closer inspection and proper diagnosis, we discovered the culprit: blown seals in the factory turbochargers.
For most owners, this is where the headache begins. But every once in a while, there’s a silver lining. Instead of simply replacing the factory components and calling it a day, the owner decided to turn an unfortunate repair into an opportunity to transform an already incredible supercar into something truly outrageous.
Stock Turbos < Pure 1000 Turbos
With the factory turbos coming out anyway, the decision was made to take things a few steps further.
This F8 was upgraded with bigger Pure 1000 turbochargers:
Stock Intercoolers < CSF Intercoolers
Paired with CSF intercoolers to support cooler, more consistent performance under boost:
Custom ECU Tune + Dyno Calibration
To bring everything together, the car received a custom ECU tune and dyno calibration, dialed in specifically for this setup.
The Final Result?
837 wheel horsepower.
That’s a massive jump from roughly 630 wheel horsepower stock, completely transforming how this Ferrari feels behind the wheel.
What started as a smoking issue turned into one of those rare situations where a setback became something worth getting excited about.
From diagnosis to upgrade, this Ferrari F8 now delivers more sound, more thrill, and a level of power that completely changes the character of the car.
Have a great rest of your week!
