RWB x ABE: Porsche 964 Widebody
The long-awaited RWB build here at ABE has finally come to an end and we’ve been so eager to share it with you. Before diving deeper into this newsletter/blog post, do yourself a favor and watch the full-length video encapsulating the project from start to finish:
We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section and we plan to release many more long-form videos of the projects we complete here at ABE, make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
Once we received all the parts from the RWB 964 Full Kit, we had them painted through ABE Bodyworks before setting up the ideal workspace for RWB’s Akira Nakai. A couch, a fridge full of Cokes, the car up on the lift and all the parts laid out neatly.
Once Nakai showed up, he wasted no time and got straight to work. Cutting up the 964 and bolting on the super wide-body flares. He then installed the front bumper, front canards, rear bumper, side skirts and Velos Design Works 3pc Class Bulge VLS10 Wheels with ToyoR888 Tires 355/30/18 in the back and 265-30-18 in the front.
Once the build was all put together and on the ground, Nakai proceeded to do a manual alignment so the car does not rub at all, with numbers printed on the dusty rear flares (something we’ve never seen before and found insanely cool). Now that the car had no rubbing issues and was aligned, Nakai and our client went for one final test drive before going back to the shop for its finishing touches.
Before hitting the road again, we PPF’d the whole car including the RWB kit through ABE Protect Plus so the client has ensured the Nakai’s signature will never fade and the perfect clarity paint stays that way for years to come.
All-in-all, this was one of the most exciting projects we’ve had the privilege of being a part of and we’re so happy we captured it all to share with you.
If you’d like to be the proud owner of the next Toronto RWB Porsche, reach out as soon as possible as we have a spot with Akira Nakai for a build next year!
