Insane $800K CAD In Defenders Compared: Twisted Vs. Himalaya
This last week, we were lucky enough to get about a half million dollars (USD) worth of Land Rover Defenders roll into the shop, and you know we had to film some behind-the-scenes to show off these incredible builds. Both are meticulously restored, modified and stylized in their own unique ways and finally protected through ABE Protect Plus: the UK-built Twisted and the American-built Himalaya.

Twisted Defender [Uk]
Built by the renowned UK-based Twisted Automotive, this Defender features a handcrafted interior, upgraded suspension, all modern features including heated seats, new transmission etc, and packs modern C8 Corvette engine under the hood.
The metallic green paint on this maroon leather interior is a bold yet tasteful spec, with nearly everything on the inside leather-wrapped and Recaro bucket seats in the front and the back!
For this build, we installed full-body paint protection flm (PPF) through ABE Protect Plus, each panel custom cut and installed for an invisible, factory-like finish to keep this collectible pristine throughout its daily driving. Which this client will be doing all through winter!
Himalaya Defender [US]
This US-based builder strips the Defender down and rebuilds it with modern tech, powertrain upgrades (like GM-sourced V8s), and rugged overlanding details.
This particular build has the LS3 engine, which matches the brutal exterior perfectly. We find this one sounds even better than the Twisted's C8 motor, but let us know what you think! Inside the cabin is a more OEM+ design with tan leather wrapped everywhere possible and modern features, including even an updated sound system.
We had the privilege of protecting this Himalaya as well in top-to-bottom PPF through ABE Protect Plus. No custom templates for this job, just hand-cutting and custom-cut installation to meet Himalaya's bespoke paneling and trim. As always, every edge is wrapped, and all of this beautiful matte grey paint is protected.
