TOUR OUR Office - HOMEKIN X ABE

If you think about the automotive industry compared to the interior design space, the two worlds have much in common. Similar to carefully curated interiors, the super luxury vehicles we work with on a daily basis are thoughtfully designed with; tantalizing curves and proportions, eye-catching colour combinations and feature impeccable upholstering and leather craftsmanship. These magnificent vehicles also reflect the clients who own them and are an extension of their lifestyles. For this very reason, when we moved into our current location at 9-160 Pennsylvania Avenue, we wanted to create a space that felt as customized and luxurious as the vehicles we work with and aligned with our clients’ standards of living. To do this, we enlisted the help of an online interior design company called Homekin.

Having worked with Homekin on their personal home, Ali and Natalie knew that the process would be streamlined and professional. Based on our desired aesthetic, Homekin provided us with a dedicated designer and access to trade-only brands. In addition to helping us with the floor plans, furniture placement and selecting furniture, Homekin also managed all the logistics. This allowed us to achieve our desired look while still being able to focus on the needs of our clients.

Although our 1200-square-foot office gave us plenty of room to play with, the space is long and awkward so we struggled to find the right layout. As a team, Homekin was able to solve this problem easily for us. In addition to this, they also took on all the research to find pieces that fit our desired look and budget. As a result, we have a client lounge and wet bar, a boardroom with workstations, and a kitchen and lunchroom that exhibit the flow, consistency and attention to detail we were after.

Inspired by the design aesthetic of various modern luxury hotels, we gave Homekin an idea of our desired look and feel with inspiration photos from the hospitality world. We felt that this would align well with the luxury automotive world and achieve a certain level of comfort and sophistication that our clients would appreciate. From there, we left the design in the capable hands of the Homekin team, and here are the results…

The tour begins in our client lounge and wet bar! This area was our primary focus as it makes the first impression when a client walks in. We wanted it to feel comfortable and sophisticated, while still being warm and welcoming. Homekin helped us achieve this by selecting a rich, tonal palette of grey fabrics and paint. If you book any on-site services with us, this is where you will likely hang out if you choose to wait. Here, luxurious velvet armchairs and a supple leather sofa await for you to lounge as you enjoy an adult beverage or espresso from our wet bar.

Next, we have our kitchen and lunchroom, which feature surprising but delightful design elements. Homekin paired a bold houndstooth print wallpaper with the dark charcoal walls to make a huge impact and then, for some colour, opted for blue channelled-leather dining chairs and mounted our Ferrari racing hood. Although this is typically where our team gathers to eat, we welcome anyone to pop in and check out the racing-inspired space.

Behind a door on the other side of the client lounge is where we make s$%t happen! For our workstations and boardroom, Homekin helped us merge both form and function by sourcing standing desks, paired with leather and chrome office chairs that are as sleek as they are comfortable. Framed black and white photos of vehicles can be found throughout, along with powder-coated matte black accents. For window treatments, we opted for white drapery with bold black trim.

Curious to see the space in person? We invite you to drop in, say hi, and learn more about ABE!
