I'm super excited to finally share the full behind-the-scenes breakdown of one of the most intense—and most rewarding—projects we’ve ever taken on at ABE. In our YouTube video, I take you through the entire paint protection film (PPF) installation process on an absolute unicorn: the Bugatti Mistral. This is the first of its kind to land in Canada, and just 1 of only 99 ever produced worldwide.

What Is The Bugatti Mistral?

With only 99 units being hand-assembled globally, never to be replicated, one thing is clear: you're witnessing automotive history being made.

The last Bugatti to feature the legendary W16 engine and the fastest open-top road car ever built. Named after the frequent & powerful wind that sweeps through southern France, the 'Mistral' is an homage to Bugatti's performance, craftsmanship, and automotive innovation.

Producing 1,578 horsepower from its 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16, the Mistral is one of the most exclusive and extreme roadsters ever built. With all that mind, this vehicle required the highest level of care, precision, and protection. That’s where we come in.

Precision Over Pre-Cuts: Fully Custom PPF

Being such an incredibly rare car, there were absolutely no pre-cut film templates available on our cutting software. This meant every panel had to be manually measured, plotted, and applied by hand. From the sweeping air intakes, to the massive rear diffuser, each curve presented a new challenge that tested the limits of what we can do.

The Goal: full body coverage, zero compromise and minimal visible seams. Our team mapped each section by hand, ensuring every edge and corner was seamlessly wrapped while remaining completely invisible. Adding long-term value and security to this incredibly rare hyper-car.
