ABE Gives Back: Trees-of-Joy 2025

Every now and then, a moment reminds us that giving back is the greatest gift of all. At ABE, supporting our community is at the heart of who we are and what we stand for. This November, we were proud to be a sponsor at Make-A-Wish Canada’s Trees of Joy event, an uplifting holiday tradition where local businesses come together to celebrate children who have recently had their wishes granted.

Our contribution goes directly to Make-A-Wish Canada's broader mission of helping grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses. Being part of Trees of Joy allowed us to see firsthand the impact these experiences have, not just on children like Mason, but on the entire community that comes together to support them.

As part of our sponsorship, we were matched with a young Star Wars fan, and our mission was simple: decorate his tree in a complete Star Wars theme! Our team decorated the tree, complete with themed ornaments, a Darth Vader mask as the tree topper, and even Darth Vader’s cloak wrapped around the branches.

We also wrapped up a bunch of gifts for Mason for him to open and enjoy this holiday season. When he arrived with his family, they were all so excited. Watching him open every single gift with excitement was the highlight of the day and a reminder of why these moments matter.

When Mason and his family arrived, their reaction made every moment worth it. Mason dove into each gift with excitement and joy. Watching him open everything and seeing his smile grow with each present was the highlight of our day.

As we look ahead, our experience at Trees of Joy has greatly inspired our commitment to supporting meaningful causes in our community. We plan to take part in many more initiatives like this in the future and continue to find ways to give back to our community in more meaningful and memorable ways.
